Thailand II  Kho Tao snorkeling, sharks and death corals

Kho Tao is the diving paradise in Thailand.In fact, it is more the diving accreditation place than the diving paradise. As it is place at the golf of Thailand, Kho Tao has no currents at all, therefore is a safe place where people can get instructed in diving easily. That's provably why most of the accreditations of Open Water Divers (first level diving) are done in Kho Tao. 

First time I saw corals! hard corals. Kho Tao does not have soft corals of any kind. First reason is because of the absence of currents. Second reason global warming. Last reason but not least, turism. So if there were some, they are long gone. 

Shark bay, one of the popular beaches spots of Kho Tao has gotten distroy. Death corals skeletons are lying on the sea floor along the whole bay.  Most beaches are under some sort of coral restoration programe, unfortunatly not Shark bay. The present coral pathologies, together with human turist presure and global warming, are so severe that any new replantation would die after few days.
